About Our Office
The mission of the Montour County Prison is to protect society by providing incarceration of adjudicated offenders and persons suspected of being offenders of the law as a deterrent to the commission of a crime while providing a safe and secure environment for offenders and staff; offering programs for personal growth and development and positive reintroduction to society; and providing basic physical, medical and mental health needs while protecting the basic constitutional rights of the offenders.
NOTICE
Montour County Prison maintains a Zero Tolerance Policy regarding institutional sexual harrasment, assault or abuse. Policy and procceures to address issues of this nature have been developed and implimented in accordance with the Federal Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) Standards. For the safety and security of the prison population, inmates are allowed a limited amount of personal property in their possession while in residence at the Montour County Prison. Please click below for the current inmate personal property guidelines.
Montour County Prison Inmates are allowed visitation privilidges during specified hours. by appointment only. Please review the Montour County Prison Visitation Guidelines for more information.
Inmates are permitted to make outgoing pre-paid or debit telephone calls. Inmates also have access to the prison commissary for the purchase of general hygiene and small food items. Incoming and outgoing mail service is available to the inmates of the Montour County Prison. Inmates are limited as to the type of material they are permitted to receive and send via mail. Please click below for the inmate mail guidelines for more information.
