About Our Office
As part of Penn State, one of the top 20 research Institutions in the United States, Extension is dedicated to delivering unbiased, scientifically proven, evidence-based information to individuals, businesses and communities across the commonwealth and beyond.
Our Services
There’s no better place than 4-H for building the foundation of success. We are a community of encouraging adults and welcoming kids who love to roll up our sleeves and learn by doing. We work, serve, and have fun together through all kinds of projects. We participate in events and activities through clubs, in school-based and afterschool programs, and as individual members. Join us!
The Penn State Master Gardener volunteer program supports the outreach mission of Penn State Extension by utilizing unbiased research-based information to educate the public and our communities on best practices in sustainable horticulture and environmental stewardship.
Useful Information
Montour County 4-H offers a wide variety of projects to members in over 13 Community and Project Clubs. Projects range from Expressive Arts, STEM, and Shooting Sports to Animal Science, Leadership and Environmental Sciences.
Spotted lanternfly (SLF) is an invasive insect that has spread throughout Pennsylvania since its discovery in Berks County in 2014. SLF feeds on the plant sap of many different plants including grapevines, maples, black walnut, and other important plants in PA. If you see SLF, help us stop it in its tracks!
Master Gardeners help Extension better serve the home gardening public by answering questions, speaking to groups, writing gardening articles, working with youth, gardening in the demonstration gardens, participating in the Penn State pollinator research program, and in many other ways.
