Lake Chillisquaque Spillway Upgrade

Talen Energy is undertaking a project to upgrade the Lake Chillisquaque Spillway.
Lake Chillisquaque, a manmade lake is located within the Montour Preserve, in Anthony Township, Montour County.
The spillway directs water away from the lake in the event of significant rainfall. The auxiliary spillway will be upgraded to slow down the flow of water when the spillway is activated and reduce the risk of erosion by deepening the channel and constructing a protective, stepped concrete structure within it. The project follows Pennsylvania Division of Dam Safety guidelines, improves public safety, and ensures the long-term viability of the lake and preserve.
